I worked hard to losse my wieght and went from a 14/16 to a 10/12. After just a few months of relaxing; not dieting etc I am now a 12/14. It's creeping back. And the thing I hate most? BACK FAT! Yuck! I am going to diet before Christmas then have a break over the holidays for a couple of days but honestly; I feel minging. Why is maintaining wieght so hard? I juts got bored with salad and working out all the time but I love the results.

Weight check every week and don't relax! It is harder to loose than regain. It is depressing but I am coming to this conclusion. If you are having a treat meal, have a treat meal or a treat snack, not a treat day. Don't have diet food and normal food, have superstar food that you eat all the time. Keep your maintaining exercise routine at 60% of your weight loss routine.

I think the key to maintaining is being 'mindful' as to what you're eating and definitely yes to weighing weekly so you're monitoring.

If relaxing means thinking you can eat and drink whatever you want then you will certainly regain unless what you want is broadly what it was when you were losing weight.

I've read that body adjusts its metabolism to the weight it considers normal. So if you were heavier for a long time that is the weight your body considers normal and would strive to maintain. I think it takes 5 or 7 years Sad to re-educate your body.

How about trying the 5:2 diet - I dont do diets as a general rule but have found it easy to stick with and might be a good solution to the yoyo effect.
