Did you have a BIG dress? Advice needed!

I'm getting married in 3 weeks and as the date approaches I'm becoming increasingly worried about the size of my dress.

Its a princess style dress with a large tulle skirt. I've got a small hoop petticoat, mainly to stop the dress getting caught between my legs when I walk. Thr skirt itself is made of lots if layers of tulle so I can't really make it any smaller even if I remove the hoop.

I've got a bustle for the night, but even with that done up, the sides seem to stick out loads. The dress is at least 5 ft wide and every time I try it on it seems to have grown!

I would love tips on walking, dancing, making sure no one steps on it, getting in and out if the car, ect.

At the moment I'm even considering buying a second dress for the reception, but I don't have any money left and I know it'd be a shame as I'm only going to get one chance to wear the one I've already got!

Just make sure that you go slow and unhurried, practice walking around in it at home, through the doors, sitting down and getting up. Try to take smallish steps to create that gliding look. Most of all straighten you back and hold your head high, enjoy your day Thanks

I am having the same worries.
The netting underneath, there is so much of it I am dreaming of getting rid of it to make the dress smaller but I don't think it will work shape wise.

I'm hoping it's completely normal to freak out in the run up?

If in doubt kick the net.

If you have no one to take you to the toilet to hold the dress up hold the front up and sit on it facing the wall as if you were riding a horse.

That's a good idea.

Not cutting it out so I don't feel like a toilet roll holder dolly?

Ooh lovely!
Sounds fabulous!

Just practise in it around the house. No cups of tea or red wine to be drunk at the same time!

Don't worry about it being too big for the reception, it's your wedding fgs!
You will look amazing & feel amazing!

Oh but make sure the flours are hoovered & clean first! Don't want dusty edges!
