Rain is pretty common in the U.K,nothing to worry about really.

OhYoubadbadKitten · 20/11/2012 22:09

Oh no, Im fed up with wind and rain and fog, I want it to get cold and SNOW AND SNOW and SNOW Grin, Then I will be unable to get to work and can spend all day on the lovely snow treads on mn.

bureni · 20/11/2012 22:14

The Met office has given no major rain warnings for tomorrow, perhaps a little bit in the south west and Cornwall direction but no warnings at all for the rest of the U.K.

Sparklingbrook · 20/11/2012 22:15

No to snow. Rain is better but definitely no to flooding.

bureni · 20/11/2012 22:20

Hate flooding especially with a high tide since I am right on the sea with my house about 1 foot below sea level though I have not been flooded yet thankfully.

Sparklingbrook · 20/11/2012 22:23

There is a pub locally that got very badly flooded in the bad rain a couple of months ago and has been closed for refurb ever since. It re-opens on 23rd.

OhYoubadbadKitten · 21/11/2012 07:45

Not just today, but tomorrow when once again the parts of the north west and western scotland are getting a warning. That area has had several bouts of heavy rain with accompanying yellow warnings recently.

There are 72 floodwarnings and alerts for the sw

Actually, the NW are just outside the warning area this time :) but poor soggy western Scotland gets another round.

You are welcome beanie :)

bureni, it depends where you live as to whether it is a cause for worry surely? Huge concern for many.

OhYoubadbadKitten · 21/11/2012 07:54

Just looked at the wind gusts for tomorrow, close to 70mph near Plymouth tomorrow afternoon and 50-60mph quite widely along the south coast. Enough to bring down some weakened trees, especially where the ground is very soggy.
Pretty wind in East Anglia and eastern coastal counties for a time too.

Worcestershire calling. Torrential rain and very dark. Horrendous school run. Sad

Namechangeforapropertythread · 21/11/2012 08:47

Oh no. I want to go to longleat Friday. Please tell me it will be ok!

GloriaSmud · 21/11/2012 10:35

Leicestershire signing in ~ just 'orrible out there; really, really 'orrible! Weather station says it's 8.9C and we've had 14.7mm of rain in the last 24hrs. We seemed to have gained an extra couple of ponds as well in the back garden!

GloriaSmud · 21/11/2012 12:08

Can't believe how much the temperature's dropped in the last 1 1/2hrs ~ now down to 7.1C. And we're up to 19.5mm rain!

DameMargotFountain · 21/11/2012 12:13

think am pretty near to you then Gloria

am just dried out from the school run, and it's raining heavier now

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 21/11/2012 12:14

Standing water here on all the fields. A very soggy school run

OhYoubadbadKitten · 21/11/2012 12:46

Rather a sharp edge to the cold front, with some very gusty winds. Could get some thunder and lightning and possibly tornadoes, though I see torro haven't issued a watch.

GloriaSmud · 21/11/2012 12:49

DameMargot ~ I'm not far from the M69/M1 junction so more Leicester city rather than Leicestershire!
Temperature now down to 6.5C!

Chickens ~ poor spaniel! Pets do not like extremes of weather!

OhYoubadbadKitten · 21/11/2012 12:49

Fri looks quite wet early in the morning round longleat way but hopefully will dry up before the day starts properly.

Sparklingbrook · 21/11/2012 13:29

Rain has stopped now. Everywhere flooded. Sad

lubeybooby · 21/11/2012 13:39

The other Leicestershire weather nut signing in. I can confirm it is indeed 'orrible. SO dark! rain rain rain rain. Still, I prefer this to being too hot.
