Book on weaning - any recommendations

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a book for weaning? (or one you used and loved) I am going to wean DD at 6 months, and after a rocky start to breastfeeding, would like to feel more prepared.
Any advice welcomed.

I like the carol timperley baby and child vegetarian recipes. its a good one whether you are veggie or not and there are some really nice finger food type things that i have upscaled and still make even though DD is well beyond all that.

I never found one that answered all my questions to be honest, and figured out what was the best way for DD through a combination of trial and error, websites, and figuring it out as I went along.
As it turned out we went down the baby led weaning route after she decided she didn't like spoons. However, I did use some recipes from Nigella's how to eat. I bought an Annabel Karmel but used about one recipe for something finger foody.
As your baby is six months, if you're thinking of trying on finger foods, you'll find some great advice here www.babyledweaning.com.
Well done on persevering with breastfeeding for six months btw, especially after a rocky start.
Hope weaning goes well, watch out for the mess!

There is a book called finger foods for babies or something like that which is very good if you want to do BLW (or have to in my case as DD wouldn't spoon feed. Anabel Karmel basic book if you want to do purees

thank you for all your advice, much appreciated - will look into all advice! I went into breastfeeding doing nothing and found it hard (for the first 5 weeks, now loving it) - thus the attempt now at reading up and feeling more prepared!

You could also try your local library and borrow a few different books on weaning and then figure out what you like and dislike. I found I ended up with about 3 books and then just picked and chose recipes to suit our needs.

Try Susannah Olivier - What Should I Feed My Baby? and Lucy Burney - Optimum Nutrition for babies and young children. Also Jane Clarke (used to write for The Times, now Daily Mail) is an excellent nutritionist and just published a new book about feeding babies and weaning
