Any suggestions on high chair loathing ds?

After a couple of months battling with weaning, ds has decided he likes BLW to an extent.
He would happily play with food for all of 2 minutes then scream.
He would not be spoon fed at all.

Anyway today I decided to feed him some breakfast whilst he was sat on the floor. He loved it! I have thought for a while that he wasnt happy sitting in his high chair and I think today confirmed it.
But the only thing is that he wants to be on the move and playing with toys.
He will pause to have a mouthful of food but is off again. Not only that, I want to encourage him to sit at the table with the rest of the family.

Any ideas on what I can do?

a booster seat that you attach on to a normal dining chair?, they come either with or without a tray. we used one for both ours, came from mothercare. if you get one with a detachable tray, the tray helps keep them in it when they're little. ds much prefers being at the big table with everyone else.

Does he have a highchair with a tray? If so, take it off! I think LucyKate has a point - we never used the tray on ours and DS now understands that he can eat snacks on the move but that meals are at the table.

Hmmm, I wonder.
We have a booster that dd uses but it has no tray or belt on it.

I might have a look at them.

Yes it has a tray. Its one of those big horrible chunky Chico things.

if it has no belt, sometimes there are ways of attaching baby reigns to use as a harness if that helps.

otherwise, a small table and chairs, like the kids ones from ikea (not sure how old your ds is though). ours love sitting together like this.

Ds would happily eat is he was sat on someone's knee, helping himself to their plate! Never did last long in the highchair...

eek, bit young for a separate table and chair!

we've got one of these

or what about a bumbo? it would have to go on the floor but would keep him still for a mealtime

Yes that looks good.
Not sure about a Bumbo as I've heard alot of bad things about them. Plus I think ds would protest to being held down.

If my DD is in a bad mood she will not tolerate her highchair but loves her Bumbo. She is 7 months too. I give her something to play with in the Bumbo (usually a bottle of water as she loves those). I then hand her chunks of food (not strict BLW I know) and she finds it really fun.
