DS and I are getting bored with his foods...

DS is 7.5mths old. He's is mostly left to his own devices, and eats things like:

Ommelette / scrambled eggs
Toast
Pasta
Cheese
Numerous vegetables
Bananas
Chicken / turkey
Steak

And i feed him yogurt, ready brek and soup with a spoon.

He seems bored with food of late though, and he's eating too much yogurt and banana.

Any ideas for meals, or recipies i can try? He's tried bolgnese (which he loved) and a cottage pie (which he ate a few spoons of)

At 7.5mo he can mostly eat what you're eating, and I guess your diet is slightly more varied . Spoonful of whatever you're having for dinner?

And how would i go about a fish pie? It's not something i've made before.

i have no idea- it's DP's turn to cook, which means take away after DS is bed, or he may cook steak and mash.

We don't often all eat tea together, because he eats at 5pm, which is a bit early for me to be honest. (And i like the peace and quiet of eating when he's in bed, and i can read the paper without him attacking it! )

I try and just give our DS what we're having (works about 4 days out of 7) He loves spicy food so if I'm making a curry/chilli for us I start of making it quite mild with no salt etc, take his portion out (normally take out extra to freeze) then spice up ours a bit more and add salt etc. With time probably move towards it be exactly the same (and make us healthier by missing out salt). I'm rubbish with recipies so I just make it up with what ever tired veg I have - the problem with that it that if he loves something I rarely can ever make it exactly the same again!!!

Have you tried the sweetcorn patties from Aitch's blog, or the courgette fritters - can recommend both of those.

Is banana the only fruit he eats? Dd likes fingers of melon or mango, or sometimes pineapple. Lychees also went down well, and cherries, and 'tiny tangerines' if you have an M&S near you (only place that sells them).

You could try meatballs, or fishcakes, or bean soup/stew, or any casserole.

he also eats apples, as well as the bananas. Tried pears, and he's not chuffed with them, but he tolerates them. He prefers veg.

I'll check out the fritters suggestion, and i think he'll love meatballs

I made him potato wedges with melted cheese earlier, which went down well.

try doing veg in different ways. dd is currently loving all her veg roasted with a little olive oil and then cheese sprinkled on top.
