My 9 month old eats well with three meals, 1-2 snacks each day and drinks water from a sippy cup. She is BF and has morning feed on waking and a mid-morning/mid-afternoon snack feed but only has these if offered (she is fine without them and if we are out she often misses one if not both of these). She also usually has a feed before bed and sleeps 7-7.
I go back to work soon and she will be staying overnight with parents one day a week. Because of this I am trying to get her to take EBM from her cup rather than me feeding her, but she only sips it. The past two nights DH did bedtime and despite offering the milk she took only a few sips but still slept through.Â
On one hand I'm relieved as she doesn't seem to need me/milk before bed but I'm worried she's not getting enough milk for her age. If she still won't take full 'feeds' from a cup I'm not sure she'll get enough nutrients when she is at nursery/childcare (albeit it will only be overnight for one day a week).Â
Any tips on getting he to take a feed from a cup or advice on how I can make sure she gets enough nutrients? I know the majority of nutrients should be from milk up to 12 months and I'm pretty sure she would just have food and water if I let her...Â
