all the books say to try when baby is in a happy mood, well as this never seems to happen with ds im finding it hard to offer a taste of food inbetween all the crying. i offer food he cries even more so we try again but the same thing happens.

how i will manage to get him to eat 3 meals a day when all he does is cry god knows

just leave him to do it by himself. some babies see it as your are forcing it in their mouths. maybe try the blw approach? i know a few people who have had babies hate the spoon, and gone onto happily wean themselves.

nappyaddict is right - my baby was one of those who totally refused a spoon, and baby led weaning worked for her with great success. BLW is a method of offering your baby fingerfoods so he can feed himself, and missing out the purees altogether.
here is an interesting website on blw

Thanks think you may be right as when I gave him the spoon to hold he rammed it in his mouth but wouldnt open it for me to give him anything.
BLW all seems too simple.
