I apologise for this being such a silly question but was wondering when we have stew for example and we use stock/whether it be oxo cube vegetable stock (it will be from a packet because I am rubbish like that) is he allowed it as well. I ask because I thought perhaps because of the amount of salt in the stock he wasnt allowed it and I am finding it really hard to find out what I can give my DS with regard to sauces. I dont always make a bolognese sauce am guiily of buying a jar sometimes and as far as I understand he cannot have this is this correct ?
if someone can advice me of some good sauces that would be great - many thanks

you have to be careful with salt. they should have less than a gram a day i think, which they may well get from 2 slices of bread.

can you make white sauce? then you can add what you like to it.

Thanks dizzy, I amke my own bread now so at least I can monitor how much salt he will get with the bread - although strangely enough I havent even given him finger food yet I worrying so much about the 'choking' thing but thats another thread I guess.
I hadnt though about doing the white sauce and adding things to it - thank you very much.

You can buy Marigold stock powder with no salt and use that instead of Oxo etc - Sainsburys and the bigger Tescos normally have it, but failing that try Waitrose or Holland and Barratt.
