We are doing blw, my 6.5 DD is slowly getting the hang of it she is putting food in her mouth taking bites & chewing but then spits it out, shes been doing this for a few weeks now. When will she realise she has to swallow the food? Anyone else DC do this to begin with?

Yeah mine did this. He really only started swallowing it at around 8 months. It was about a further 3 or 4 months until he started having less milk.

I remember thinking that he wasn't swallowing much/anything, and then realising he was when his nappy was full of kiwi seeds

My dd is 7 and a half months and exactly the same. Really hoping she gets the gist of it better in the next few weeks as I need to start being able to leave her but she won't take the bottle

10 months here & she's just starting to swallow (some) things on purpose.
