As above, we were doing great. At 6 months DS1 was on 3 meals a day, eating everything and started sleeping 11 solid hours through the night at the same time. Horrah. Then he got a cold....quite a bad one. Really bad cough at night, vomiting, diarrhoea, nappy rash, sticky eye.....you name it. He went completely off his food and now 3 weeks later he's still not eating. The cough is still lingering at night so he's not sleeping through at the moment but during the day he's happy enough, bit of a runny nose but that's it. HV just says 'he'll eat when he's ready' but I'm worried that he's developing bad habits with his fussiness and he'll just settle into not eating! When he was ill he vomited a lot when he ate so I'm hoping he hasn't developed some kind of eating phobia....! Thoughts?

My dd had a cold and the left over cough did the same - she couldn't bear solids. I suspect a sore throat or something? Sorry no solution but I thought it might reassure you that it seems to be part of the latest cold bug going round, so should pass!

Glad I read this. My DD is exactly the same. Had a cold about 2 weeks ago and wouldn't eat a thing, now over cold but won't eat anything but porridge and fruit- won't even take stuff I know she loves. Hopefully they'll realise they're hungry sometime soon.....

Today mine gummed up yoghurt and toast fingers and an Ella kitchen pouch ... so evidently recovered! Smile
