BLWing from 24 weeks instead of 26

DS is 22 weeks. He is trying to grab food off our plate, shoves all his toys in his mouth, is always gnawing on his fingers. I did BLW with DD from 26 weeks, but wondered if it would be so bad to start DS at 24 weeks?

It falls on Easter Sunday aswell, so I thought about just popping a few bits of the roast dinner on his tray and just seeing what he does with them.

Any thoughts?

Guidelines are for around 6 months. If they're showing all the signs of readiness then go for it. I've just started with ds2 who's coming up to 25 weeks and he's loving it.

I've just started this weekend with DD2 who's just turned 24 weeks. Just done baby rice & she likes it. I was hoping to hold off until 26 weeks but DD2 seemed too hungry & started tearing books & stuffing the paper in her mouth! Grin

I started DD at 22 weeks, she obviously was grabbing stuff and trying to bite bits off. She's been fine with it.

DS started BLW at 24 weeks as he was sitting up, and could accurately pick up the food and put it in his mouth. He just turned 6 months yesterday and thus lunch time unexpectedly demolished the best part of a banana - actually ate loads! Shock

If you're sure DC is ready then go for it - if they're not they just won't eat it.
