Reheating purees???

So, at the moment I make the fruit or veggie puree, freeze it, defrost it over night, take it out of the fridge and zap it for 10 seconds in the microwave so it is approx. room temperature, stir it well (to avoid hot spots) and then feed it to dd.
However, someone has told me I am supposed to reheat the puree to max temperature and then let it cool down before feeding it to dd? What are others doing?

I tend to heat it for a minute until it's really hot and let it cool while I feed him his milk. I think it was Annabel Karmel's book which told me to do this - I am a saddo where rules are concerned!

can't help really cos I heat on the hob, but i've always heateds it to pipping and properly cooksed thru (mainly cos he has meat as well) then wait till it's the right temp and feed it to him then.

I've always heated purees/meals for ds straight from freezer for about 2 mins, stir and then on for another min. Until it's absolutley piping hot, and then leave to cool down.

You shouldn't really just heat until room temp - I don't think so anyway - due to food poisoning.

Even food in the fridge should be heated until it's piping hot and left to cool.

I think that you really do need to heat to piping hot and then allow to cool - if you only heat to "room temperature" you are allowing any bacteria to multipy at its optimum rate - if you heat to piping hot (and then allow to cool) you are basically killing any bacteria. Hope this helps

Am I really bad then because for fruit & veg puree I just defrosted in the fridge and fed without heating, I'm sure I read another thread where other mums did that.
