Smooth nut butter, tinned salmon, hummus, egg (hard boiled).

Watch she doesn't have too much brown bread though. Wholemeal foods aren't really recommended at this age and bread can be high in salt Smile

Ok thank you for that. If I limit bread to 3-4 times a week (once a day) is that reasonable? Would it be better to give white or brown bread then? What about pastas and rice? White or brown or limit them?

At this age white is better than brown. As I understand it, the roughage fills up their tummies with empty calories and stops them drinking enough milk.

Personally, I wouldn't give bread every day at 6.5 months. There's so much else to try Smile

Yes, brown/wholemeal things are high in fibre which is good for adults very filling for young children. An excess of wholemeal foods can lead to them not consuming enough calories or other nutrients.

We've always given DS wholemeal bread as that's what the rest of the family eat so buying special bread for DS would lead to a lot of waste, especially in the early months of weaning. But to balance that, we've always given him white pasta and rice.
