Making own rusks?

I've tried making my own rusks/breadsticks this morning, anyone any advice to share?

My LO is 6 months and blw, but I had some fruit purée to use up (tried it, would t have a spoon!) and found this recipe:

1 cup rice flour
1 cup purée
150 degrees until hard

That was it! Anyway it was the simplest one I found (even I can do 2 ingredients) so I mixed it up using apple purée, made into mini breadstick shapes and cooked for about 15 mins. I don't think they taste great (but hey, not for me). They are toast-like on the outside, soft but dense and heavy on the inside. Think I will add cinnamon and use a stronger flavour next time, banana might be nice. Supposedly you can use veg purées with cheese or herbs, or anything really. DD not tried yet but about to!

Anyone know any other recipes for using up purées or tasty blw bites?

Guess they'd be more 'bready' with normal flour - more chewy. Rice flour has no gluten, so more biscuity. Post how it goes!

Mix porridge oats with mashed banana spoon into rounds and bake on low. I guess you could use any purée?

Sorry, just seen reply (or just worked out how to see threads I'm on - newbie!) keen to try the banana and oats, just discovered porridge fingers... Isn't weaning fun?! Cheese straws going well too.
