Weaning

Self feeding (or not..)

My DTs are 15 mo and were traditionally weaned.

DTD has been feeding herself with a spoon and now fork for a few weeks now and is totally self sufficient now, but DTS is showing no interest at all in picking up the spoon. He will hold an empty spoon and bite it/wave it around but if I give him a loaded spoon he just looks at me as if he thinks I am mad, waves his hands in the air and opens his mouth wide for me to feed him. He does pick up finger food like toast, bits of meat, fruit, veg sticks, rice cakes etc but he just much prefers me to feed him if a spoon is needed (eg porridge, yoghurt, pasta with sauce, casserole type things). I know I shouldn't compare with his twin as all babies are different etc, but when we see friends with similar age babies they all seem to be so much more advanced with their self feeding then DTS is!

Should I be getting worried?

Thanks for your reply. I'm not really that concerned yet but wondered whether I should be iykwim? Little digs from MIL probably brought it on (oh can't he use a spoon yet blah blah). Good to hear your lo didn't feed self until later
