skylander giants battle figures

I know this is a very silly question but I an not technical in any way. Can you just put battle pack figures on the starter pack portal for them top work we have got this for ds and mil had bought a battle pack will they work ok or Is ds going to be disappointed if we don't get an extra part?

You can use the original portal for the skylander giants, but you need the skylander giants game they wont work with the original game, so you can buy a starter pack that doesn't have a portal - they aren't too dear, but now they have brought out skylanders swap force and you need a new portal for that It really pisses me off

the packaging should say whether they are compatible with the Giants game (I think most of them are - spyros adventure figures can be used in the Giants game but giants figures cant be used on the spyros adventure game). As pp says there are also swap force figures that require a new starter pack/portal. What starter pack do you have and what are the battle figures that were bought

We have the original starter pack which he is playing with the battle pack is the cannon pack I think only told about it earlier and the mil lives 100 miles away and will prob have it wrapped and labelled by now so no use asking any questions

which game though - is it Spyros Adventure or Skylanders Giants?

as in which game do you have?

if you have the Spyro game then no the Skylanders giants figures will not work with it
