Is there a UK only equivalent of an interail pass??

Have had a quick shufty via Google and haven't unearthed anything yet. Want to look into travelling by train to a few UK destinations from Glasgow including London - want some flexibility and just thought that getting some sort of family inter-rail pass would be perfect - valid for a period of 2 weeks or longer - usable across England, Scotland and Wales. It probably doesn't exist but thought a post on Mumsnet wouldn't go amiss in searching for this particular holy grail!

All the interail pass sites that I have visited are for continental Europe only - but surely overseas travellers would be interested in purchasing something similar for the UK??

try googling for all lines rail rover, DH got one a few years back afaik they still exist.

Great thanks Totalchaos, CMOT and SueW - good to know these things exist. Unfortunately £2000 for 2 weeks of travel on the train for 2 adults a child and a baby isn't an option - steep isn't it?!

Am going to look at the Interail country pass now and see how much they are charging overseas visitors for the privilege.

Just looked - predictably quite a bit cheaper to do it from overseas. Shame you have to quote a passport number to prove that you are not a UK resident! You also have up to a month to use your days so you can have 8 days to use over the month - much more useful than having a pass to use on 7 consecutive days.

If you book the long segments well in advance on www.thetrainline.com and get a family railcard, it's going to work out a lot cheaper. Even if your child is under 5, you can still buy them a ticket to use the family railcard, and it really saves
