Scotland - things to do with small children

We are off to scotland next week, for 10 days. we are staying in the middle of nowhere, near-ish Pitlochry.

Is there anything at all to do with small children (4 and 2) other than country walks etc?

Perth is apparently within reach, so ideas for there would be appreciated.

Thanks

Somewhere near Perth (but not sure where) there is a deer park which is nice as you can buy food and feed them.

There is a lovely park just outside Dundee with a wildlife zoo type place with wolves etc.

oh, thanks. will google.

I've been to the area before (PIL live there), but it was pre-children so no idea what there is for small people to do!

There is a big play barn ball park place in Perth called Noahs Ark. At the same venue they have Go Karts 10 Pin Bowling and one of those pottery painting places.

Perth also has a really good indoor swimming pool

Pitlochry has a funfair especially for little ones. Cant remember the name but google should help you out.

Silverfrog.........I live nearish Pitlochry and its NOT the middle of nowhere, its the centre of the world.....
I have a 2 year old and I am afraid you haven't really picked a holiday location with loads of big 'attractions' that don't involve walking/outdoor stuff.
I guess you could go to the Safari park at [http://www.blairdrummond.com/]
Or you could check out this website.....

Sorry thats about it, the outdoor stuff is really great, a bit of paddling in streams and wanders in woods.....

Perth has a swimming pool, Museum, Library, Noah's Ark, there is a cinema, Scone Palace is just outside of Perth it has big grounds and a nice play area. Blair Drummond is good,Camperdown park is the one mentioned at Dundee. I think there is a Beatrix Potter display in Birnam which is near Dunkeld which are between Pitlochry and Perth, not sure how much of interest that will be to your children given their ages. Dundee swimming pool is meant to be really good as well.

nuttysquirrel - sorry, silly me, my PIL are always saying Pitlochry is the centre of the universe as well (actually, since they live in Blair Atholl, it probably is to them!)

I quite agree that the countryside is beautiful, but if it rains then we're stuck inside with 2 toddlers climbing the walls!

We have some cousins coming over from Germany to stay with us too, and i think they have planned a few days out, so we should get along nicely now.

thanks to all for the links - we'll plan a few bits form there, and have some lovely walks/bike rides the rest of the time.
