Parkdean holidays

Hi

Looking for a bit of advice re parkdean holidays. Thinking of booking a short break at Southerness in May.

If anyone has been- what do you think of the entertainment - kid's clib and evening.
THe brochure suggests that there is no additional charge, but other posts have suggested that you pay for everything when yo are there. Is this correct?

Thanks

I stayed at Parkdean Challaborough and the clubs, swimming, evening entertainment etc were all included.

I know if you book through something like the Sun Holidays offer then all these things are chargeable but if you are booking through Parkdean then it will be included.

I went on one but it was a Sun Holiday. I think I paid £5 each for passes to the club in the evening.
It was OK, not really my thing but DD loved it. A kids Disco really with entertainers doing the actions to the dances on stage and the Parkdean Characters coming on.
This was a small park in Scotland though and I went purely for DD.
It was 4 years ago so things may have changed since then.
It was worth it for £80.

Sorry, I meant the whole thing for 4 nights cost £80 for the two of us, not just the entertainment!

Thanks

The website looked like it was all included - so that is reassuring.

I suspect it also won't be my sort of thing but hopefully Ds's will love it and will be a change of scene for me!

I have been there, it is a beautiful part of the country but somewhat remote. That suited us and there are lovely trips such as sweetheart abbey, mabie farm park, kippford all within shortish drive, and a scenic 2 hour drive away is Edinburgh. The beach is just off the park and is nice. The complex and staff were great and entertainment was included. Kids clubs were great, very simelar to Haven but on a lesser scale. Swim pool very small so you had to book times in advance (this was peak holiday time) but this actually suited us fine. I would recommend it aslong as you don't mind quiet location.

We have stayed with Parkdean at both their parks in Wales, if you book direct with parkdean then all the entertainment, swimming pools, kids clubs, etc are included.

We are off to Trecco Bay during the easter holidays, I think it is their biggest park and it has loads of entertainment, our dd's really enjoy this type of holiday.

Yep We've been to Parkdean in Croyde. Lovely spot staff very good but the entertainment not to our taste. Good facilities pool, shops & laundry.

We went to southerness the week after the school break last year so there were hardly any kids there

At the kids clubs during the day there were only a few kids and at 3 out of 4 nights we were there ds was the only one for stroy time

As a result ds (3) was treated like royalty. He got laods of 1-1 time with the entertainment staff and the characters.

We didnt have to book for the pool and a plus for us that there is a small soft play and ball pool that was inc in the price

We spend a lot of time at haven and parkdean.. ds loves the kids clubs and the characters

so normally we take him to kids clubs in the morning, spend the rest of the day out and about, return him to character show about tea time and return to caravan for movie and wine for mum and dad.. the adult entertainment is not our scene and ds is in bed at 8pm anyway

enjoy

Can anybody tell me what sandford bay, west bay, cherry tree, looe bay, st minver, croyde bay holiday parks are like.
Also what are the top caravans like and are the lodges nice.

Only ever been with haven and butlins before, but thought we would try parkdean this year as looks a bit nicer.

ive stayed at parkdean cherry tree and im off to st minver in may. cherry tree was quite good, lots of entertainment each evening for families, amusements, heated pool. the park itself was well kept but a drive away from the beach and shops etc. it depends if you want to stay on the park, we use the park as a base and go exploring so cherry tree was in middle of countryside so def needed the car. we also wanted to go on norfolk broads tour when there but it was all booked up so check in advance for any attractions etc.

we stayed in a basic caravan and it was fine, very clean all equipment that i needed.
