We are thinking of going here for a week in February. We have a DD who's 2.4 and a DS of 7 months. Has anyone been?

I would recommend bedruthan steps having been there 4 times...best time to go with preschoolers is september/october when one child goes free.

Yes we've been. Food was fine for the children (nice but not particualry exciting for adults - I loved it but I'm not the most adventurous with food!) We found their swimming pool a bit cold so we didn't use it much. The children's club was great and the children really enjoyed it. I would recommend woolacombe bay hotel in preference. Good children's clubs too, children's entertainer in the evening, lovely pool, fabulous beach if you get some good weather. Only downside was the 'posh restaurant' bit was a let down but the bistro was fine (also part of the hotel).

we went in June 2005 when DD was 3 months and DS was 4. We found it great although ditto the cold pool comments and the food was good but not exciting.
But being able to dine knowing that the children were asleep and being monitored was great, the creche and kids club were thoroughly enjoyed by our two and our friends children, the gym was enough to get a good workout and the walks along the coastline were fab. Also the outside play area for the children was very good (this was 2005, might have changed a bit I guess).
Also, we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

Thanks everyone for all the advice.

We have booked for a week in mid Feb as there was a deal on so that both DCs are free. I just want to get away, somewhere where we have things to do with the DCs but can have a bit of us-time as well. I was mostly attracted by the separate kids sleeping areas and the evening monitoring so that we can have dinner on our own once they're asleep. Thanks again
