..with a 3 year old and 1 year old next summer? Is the north or south coast nicer and anyone recommend any nice cottages?

Isles of Scilly - perfect for kids, lovely beaches, hardly any traffic, really safe and really pretty and unspoilt.

we have just come back from a stay at Bosinver,in cornwall- self catering cottages on a farm- Loads for children to do, and plenty of other parents too. My 4 yr old loved every minute. i can't wait to go there for a summer holiday! its near to the Eden project, in St Austell.Other mumsnetters have recommended it too.

We recently stayed here and it was lovely. The beach is a nice sheltered sandy beach with rock pools at both ends. Plenty to do locally too

Karen - are there beautiful beachy places in Scotland a bit like Cornwall?
Interested to know what draws you such a long way...?

We stayed in Olearia because it had four bedrooms and grandparents came too! the trampoline and swings were to the front so we could watch dd play through kitchen window, and sandpit/climbing frames/slides to the back so we watched her play happily with some other children while we watched from lounge window!
We will definately go back, it was so beautiful with the autumn leaves changing colour, and so peaceful! And it wasn't cold at all.

We went here and it was great. Thinking of going again next summer. Fab prices too and a Waitrose only 10 miles away.
