Sorry can't help.
But you do know that Padstow is absolutely heaving in August.
I would recommend staying just outside rather than in the centre.

Why Padstow?

Padstow is a nightmare in August and very expensive.

Quieter areas local to Padstow would be St. Merryn, Trevone, Treyarnon and Constantine. All gorgeous.

It is lovely I would be the first to admit - I had my wedding reception in the Metropole and I grew up down the road in Wadebridge.

But in August it really is packed to the point that you will become frustrated with not being able to do what you want to do, like walk down the road in a straight line or buy a bottle of milk.

All the locals get dog tired by that point in the season, so customer service can occassionally become compromised.

If you can cope with that then go for it!

Great for a day trip, but go early in the morning or you will queue 1 hour to park.

A victim of it's own success imo.

We've used Helpful Holidays a few times (if you can stop laughing at the name.) They have all sorts in that area (though it is very busy that time of year)
this one's available I think!

It is difficult to book anything decent in Cornwall for August as there are so many repeat bookings. One year we started looking in October and found it difficult. However, bookings are fewer for the last week in August as many people have headed home (to get the school uniform and shoes in for the new term).

Try cottages4you , emma - there is still a bit of availability in late Aug in N Cornwall, the week starting 25th is generally less booked up and slightly cheaper. The 5 Goonhavern ones look as if they're new to the system (no grading yet) so worth a look and jumping in quick if they sound OK.

Or Tope House actually in Padstow (parking is a bit dodgy there though)(and link may not work after I post!)

We stayed here 2 years ago, I recall its about 7 miles from Padstow

St Tudy

It pretty much looks like it does in the pictures, so fairly dated, but clean and comfortable. Stairs are fairly steep, so you have to be careful with young ones.

Village has a pub and a shop
