One night in London with 6yo DS - where to stay?

We're visiting London for one night in March with DS. It'll be his first to a london so we want to see some of the famous sites inc museums and the tower of London. As we're only there for a weekend we'll obviously be rushing around and will get the tube, but not sure whereabouts we should stay. We've always stayed near Covent Garden when we've visited without kids and do like that area as a base, but not sure if there's somewhere better to stay if we're not doing west end shows (tho we might try and see a show on the sat night, so maybe that would be a good location)? If anyone could recommend a well located (and reasonably priced if poss!) hotel that has family rooms I'd be v grateful :)

The sites you're talking about visiting are spread about a bit (museums in South Ken, tower of London- going anywhere central near a tube should be fine. For one night I would prob go for a Travelodge style place - you're only after a comfy bed and shower for morning I presume?

Premier inn at Tower Bridge is fantastic - check it out on trip advisor very well recommended

just go for the cheapest most central location that you can find. unless you pay mega bucks and get a good hotel then really you just need somewhere well located to sleep so that you can spend your money on going out.

Would recommend premier inn too. We stayed in Kings Cross though. Iirc kids are free too, so may well be a cheap and decent option

We've enjoyed the Premiere Inn near the monument the last few times we've been in London. Short walk to the Tower and Monument stop on Tube (easy trip to South Ken)

Thanks for the advice. Premier inn seems like a good bet. I prived up the one near tower bridge and a family room inc breakfast would be £153 which seems reasonable :)

Booked the premier inn Holborn which looks lovely and is close enough to walk back if we go to see an evening show. Thanks for all your help :)
