Centre Parcs-type place in North??

We are looking for a family holiday place to use as a base for visiting family and friends in the north - between Newcastle and York areas. All the CP villages are too far south. Can anyone recommend somewhere suitable for a nearly 3yo and a 1yo? Ideally with activities for the days we're not visiting.
