Things to do in bristol with 2yo and 4yo?

Thinking of going for a weekend, any ideas what we can do?

@Bristol is brilliant for younger kids. also looking round the ship SS Great Britain and walking across the bridge

Do the Gromit Trail - lots of painted Gromit figures to find - especially round the centre - great fun and free.

Also M Shed. Ferry round the harbour, go to the Downs for walks and to see the Suspension Bridge etc

There's the zoo or the aquarium.

We used to have relatives in Bristol when DD was this sort of age - as mentioned SS Great Britain (and the Matthew if its in) are good, and the zoo is I think particularly good as its not too big but what it does it does well. It's got quite a lot under cover so ok whatever the weather. Personally I think @Bristol would be better for slightly older kids but I'm sure they'd have fun there anyway.

DS is 3 and really likes the MShed museum down by the harbourside. It's free and there are other free things to do down there like go on the Matthew (ship) that's often moored there, picnic in Queens Square, if it's hot loads of children play in the water features in Millenium Square. Or just a walk up the harbourside looking at things - there's often little markets at the weekend.

There are a few attractions you can pay for there too - @Bristol (science museum) and the Aquarium are on Millenium Square too, and the SS Great Britain is further up.

There's a playground on Brandon Hill, and you can walk from there up to Clifton Village (lots of cute/expensive little shops and cafes) and from there you can go over the suspension bridge. On the other side of the bridge is the Ashton Court Estate - good for walks, cycling, it's a big deer park and free. The zoo is in Clifton too and is a nice day out but quite expensive.
