I'm thinking of getting one of these for my DD (in the hope that she stops using my iPad!). Any recommendations on which is best and why? Thanks

I'm thinking of getting my son one or the other for his 4th birthday. From what I've seen I think the Innotab looks better but hopefully someone else will come along and tell us more!

Just found this, I know they are talking about the older versions but I think Innotab seems a lot more popular

we went with the innotab for a variety of reasons, but mainly because you can download your own stuff, whereas the leappad you can only use their stuff

BUT, I really wish i'd taken advice I read online and bought a cheap tablet instead.

if your DD is used to using the iPad then she will find the innotab unbearably slow. It all takes an age to load and can be quite frustrating.

The games are expensive and need storing, whereas with a tablet you can just download free/cheap apps

We tried both and found the innotab really slow loading but loved the e reader on the leap pad. Dd now has the leap pad and at 5 still loves it. I personally didn't want a cheap tablet as I don't want dd accidentally online buying in game tokens etc. personal choice, but we love the leappad :)

Interested in this thread too. What apps could you get on a cheaper/older generation tablet as opposed to innotab or leappad?

Oops!

.....going to start this exact thread. Innotab 3s or leap pad ultra? The leap pad has a much bigger screen but is innotab better?

Leapad definitely. But for any child older than seven I would buy a cheap tablet much better value.
