Just bought three year old dun warmblood, who is nameless!! Despite having trawled through the baby names on MM, I still have no inspiration!!

Try looking at an old map for a nice field name - sounds a bit weird but some fields have fab horse names!

Do you have pics? What colour dun? Is it definately dun or possibly buckskin. Very exciting for you :)

If he is actually a buckskin, you could go with an native american type name. Apache, Cherokee or similar.

I was watching a video of a girl and her horse and he was called Noah I though it was such a cute name for a pony or horse (unless you have a ds called Noah of course)

I like Pharoah too!

Is it a mare or gelding?

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 07/09/2012 08:37

Ooh, I like Noah!

Oh yes, should have said, mare! Definitely dun, not buckskin. My little winter project. Wink

Do you know the names of his sire and dam? I work in racing and always like to see the owners using the sire and dam for name inspiration Grin

Champagne? You could lengthen it in all sorts of ways if you wanted a posh show name. Or Champagne bubbles, but Bubbles for short. (or is that too twee? Blush Possibly better for palomino?).
I knew a dun pony called Shammy which was named because it was the colour of chamois leather, don't think the owner was hot on spelling.

Crumble. We're on a roll with the food ideas... Also, is it a stable name you're wanting or a show name?

I always liked The Dun Thing as a show name, but I think it used to belong to an event horse years ago , in the century when I used to be brave and compete !

Some other ideas:
