I'm quite shy and a bit awkward socially at times. For our next inset we have been asked to visit a school of our choice in a different LEA, the aim is to see if there is good practice that we can observe and share with others in our school.

I've found a school that I'd like to go to. I need some help phrasing the email I need to send to the head. Once I get started writing I'll probably be ok but I'm completely stuck with how to start. I often feel I get these kind of things wrong and don't want to mess it up.

What can I say apart from 'hi I'm rebus and I'd like to spend the day at your school please.'

You actually have to source a school and invite yourself in, as part of directed time? I haven't heard of this happening before.
