Need to join a Teaching Union in England - any thoughts?

Hi everyone,

I'm about to move down to England from Scotland next month, and have just realised I need to find a new union as my current one only covers teachers in Scotland. I realise it is very much a personal preference, but I don't know much about the options in England so thought I would ask.

I'm a primary teacher, will be working in Lincolnshire. Any recommendations/thoughts on unions?

Does it differ much according to the school you are in? It doesn't particularly in Scotland, hence my confusion!

Many thanks.

Some people have strong preferences for a particular union, others don't. Personally, I think all the main ones are fine, I would join one that has a rep in the school that you are working in. If you don't know yet which that will be, then just pick one - you can always change if you want to!
