Well I personally still like fipronil which is in Frontline. But we use Effipro instead as same ingredient and cheaper. We have four moggies and it works very well if you do it once a month. Admittedly only one of our cats is outside alot (the others are either old and deaf, or neurotic or lazy!) So less chance of catching fleas I guess! What makes you ask? Have you had problems with fleas or the treatments?

Does anyone have ad vice for me? We have fleas but no pets, so wondering how best to treat, including a mattress...
Any ideas appreciated

Guyropes have you recently moved into the property or had pets visiting? If not I would suspicious you don't have fleas. Fleas prefer carpets to mattresses, if the beds are the biggest problem I would consider bed bugs.
If, however, you have recently moved in or had pets to stay and the majority of the bites are below your knees then hoovering then spraying with either Indorexx or Acclaim will solve the problem.
