I normally post in the doghouse, despite the fact I have 3 cats. 4 years ago we got a rescue cat (feral kitten who had been kept at animal sanctuary for 3 years). Toddler DD & I spent hours doing 3 sessions a week, every week for ages with the cat, it is a 45 min drive each way, we are serious about Sock.

We take Sock home as company for our aging cat Io, who has recently lost his partner Tabby.

Sock doesn't settle, no matter what I do. The minute she is let out she finds our elderly neighbours & sits on their laps. I talk to neighbours, pay for food, vet bills etc (she is microchipped so registers as mine).

Everyone is happy for 3 years, elderly neighbours adore Sock (Mandy as they call her!)

Suddenly Sock is at my front door asking for food. Neighbours are fine, I have checked.

I put a bowl of bics out front which Sunnie (primadonna cat!) happily shared.

I already am the legal owner of Sock, at which point do I overide my neighbours???? Help?

I found your post a little unclear. I think the best way forward is to have a chat with your NDN?

I'd let her come and go as she pleases, the other cats don't seem to mind her by the sound of it.

It's not like you can force her to stay anyway.
