I have two 6 month old kittens.
One has always seemed more boisterous and bolder than his more wary timid brother.
They have been able to go outside for a few weeks now, the more timid one flew out the back door on that first day and surprised us all by spending most of the day exploring the garden. He returned for dinner and collapsed exhausted on the sofa.
His bolder brother refuses to leave the back door step. If he is tempted out, he runs back in if a bird dares to fly overhead. I wouldn't mind him not going out if he was a bit calmer and less destructive indoors.
We play with him using the fishing rod but come 2am he is running wild or destroying something if shut in the living room or kitchen. I think he needs to go out, burn some energy and he does seem like a natural hunter (when playing with the fishing rod, he doesn't dart around like his daft brother, he sits, waits and pounces when he is sure of the catch).
Will he ever go out? Is there anything I can do?
