Flea prevention injection

Has anyone tried the injection that gives 6 months of flea protection for their cat?
Any side effects?
Do all vets offer this? How much is it?

One of my cats reacts very badly to the 'back of the neck' drops, flakey sore skin and hair loss so I'm hoping an injection my be better.

Interested about this as Jack licks the flea stuff off when it runs.

Our vet used to offer it but has stopped now unfortunately, as it was brilliant.

It doesn't kill live fleas only prevents them from breeding in the house.

It works really well for my cat, and the protection tends to last much longer than 6 months.

But it doesn't protect the cat. They still get bit to death. It is just a contraceptive for the fleas.

It stops the house getting infested but you'll still need advocate.

It's still worth doing though, vacuuming everywhere and spraying enough indorex to asphyxiate an elephant is not a fun afternoon.

We use a tablet to stop the fleas, the vet advised this over the injection because as other people have said it does protect the cat from fleas.
