The litter tray

Royal Canin Gastro intestinal...any good?

I took Ophie to the vet tonight as despite everything we have tried she has always had loose and stinky bowels (and as she refuses to go out unless we go outside too, she uses the litter trays a LOT) to see if there is anything else we can do. He can't feel anything worrying but wants to do some poo sample tests (lovely!) and in the meantime has prescribed some Gastro Intestinal packets.

She is fussy. Very. Has been from day 1, so I'm not sure how this will pan out, but wondered if anyone else has used them?

I also have to work out how to feed her separately from Obie and Portia as they generally all pitch up in the kitchen at the slightest sound of cat food being opened and we can't close them out easily due to having stupid doors!

On the plus side he gave her a quick trim up the rear end with clippers and she barely noticed so I am going to get some!

My mum has an indoor Ragdoll who had 2 bowel resections as a kitten and he has the Royal Canin sensitivity chicken pouches and a gastro biscuit made by Hills which help keep his bowels ok . ( he also eats prawns and fresh cooked chicken and turkey but the packets are his mainstay ) . The sensitivity comes in duck flavour as well and my mum buys online as it's cheaper than the vet .

I don't know how good they are. The vet gave Seniorboy some and he refused to eat the stuff. Sad

Sorry. By 'gave Seniorboy' I mean 'sold to me'. He's coddled at that practice but not that coddled.

Mine really like this, it's meant to be easily digested. The vet nurse told me they give it to all post operatively as it's so palatable. One of my boys is prone to a soft stool, I keep it under good control with protexin enterogenic granules and sprinkle a little once a day on their food. But see what the tests show she might have giardia or another parasite causing it.

When are you to take the poo samples in, Medusa?

I have to collect three in a row (lucky me!) so it will be next week :)

We've not used the sensitive one but I have a Siamese with a very sensitive tummy and their Siamese dry food has worked wonders on him.

When he first came to live with us he was going up to six times a day and he farted every time he moved. He was the smelliest, laziest cat I'd ever seen. Within a week of changing food he was a different animal. Down to once a day, no farting, bundles of energy & his coat was beautiful. Everyone comments on the change in him.

As others have said I'd wait for the results but just wanted to let you know our experience. I hope it isn't anything serious.
