The litter tray

Some silly questions to solve a mystery

Have had my neutered maine coon boy for five months no problems whatsoever.

100% housecat uses litter tray no problem.

However when stripping my bed today I noticed a large stain on the duvet which had gone through to the mattress protector.

No young children so suspicion is falling on the cat -thinking he has either peed on our bed-most unlike him as no other accidents- and the stain doesn't smell-I am thinking cat pee would smell pretty bad?

Or could he have sprayed? Do they still spray if neutered? It's a fairly large stain - when they spray is there a lot of liquid?

Just trying to work out what is going on and hopefully stop it happening again.

Does your OH like a drink?

They spray still after neutering, well some do but you'd definitely smell it if you took a good sniff. If it's order less it's more likely spilled water or something?

Could he have had a sick? (There can be a surprising amount of liquid there, if so.) Did you check the duvet cover?

Do you give him a hand with his grooming?

DH is in the clear choc- it doesn't smell like pee or vomit to be honest-there is a very faint smell but not unpleasant.

He gets a brush every day - (cat not DH) and he doesn't hairball retch like some of our previous cats have.

Will keep and eye on him- duvet is off to drycleaners in the meantime.

Believe me, is spray or pee you would know about it! Another vote for a non-owned-up-to beverage spillage and not the cat!

Could it be that white frothy vomit (when they have had an empty stomach)? That doesn't smell at all and if you have noticed it to clean up it just goes watery.

.....there is a very faint smell but not unpleasant.....

That's a sick then - they don'r smell bad if they're fast aftr foinf into the stomach. (Whether DH or cat is up to your investigations.)
