Cheesy kitten Feet...

MKitten has smelly, adolescent-boy feet!

Only his back feet. I began to notice whilst kissing his little paws. Blush

Apparently they are a mousey/cheesy smelling breed, not having much fur to absorb the oils/sweat.

Anyone else have a cheesy/sweaty cat?

It would be a first for me. How is he on his personal grooming?

PS - remind me when he's due to get the snip?

Hold on - he's just had it hasn't he ?

Yes, snipped about a month ago now I reckon. Enough time for the testosterone to get out of his system.

It's not overpowering, just a slightly cheesy aroma. when I sniff his feet

He's very fastidious with his grooming for a kitten, I'm impressed.

Just the cheesy feet - perhaps due to his adolescence? (He has just made a Big Smell in his litterbox, and is now rampaging about the house with MCat.)

I think I'd be torn between just letting him deal with it himself (as he's a good personal groomer) and giving him an occasional wee assist with some wipes. It's not an issue I've ever had to deal with although I have to help Seniorboy with his claws now that he's elderly and arthritic so having him generally OK with someone fiddling with his feet is a help.

Look forward to other posters' experiences on this one.

My male, 10 year old, neutered cat has incredibly cheesy feet. Proper teenage boy stinkers. I thought it was normal! My other male cat had them too although the female didn't.
His back feet are worse than his front.
-I quite like his 'cheesers'-

Maybe it's common then. I have this vision of people all over the country now stooping to sniff their cats back feet. Oh My. Grin

I hold PicklePig like a baby with his feet pointing upwards & repeatedly smell his back feet & say "Poooooh! Cheesers!" He just looks at me with a disdainful expression.
I know it's odd but I love his cheesy feet Smile

He doesn't mind his feet being fiddled with. Because of his oily skin he gets black-heads between his toes. He actually spreads his toes voluntarily when you touch his feet, allowing access between the pads! Smile

I wouldn't have noticed the cheesy feet smell if I hadn't, you know, sniffed.

I actually quite like it too. I used to love my dog's cheesy feet as well...

Is he a Sphinx? You said he hasn't got much fur.
Does he let you squeeze his feet blackheads?!

He's a little Devon. I rub the toe blackheads once a week with a babywipe, before they become actual rampaging blackheads. Sorry if TMI!

Here he is. Smile

He's gorgeous! We have a Selkirk, clearly far hairier, but I love curly cats.

Oh look at him! He's gorgeous!!
What a handsome boy. I love his little brown splodge on his nose.
He's really lovely.

Thank you! He feels like a sweaty, fuzzy peach! and smells like cheese

I picked him out at a day old, because of the splodge on his nose, and the entitled cheeky look he was giving to the camera.

Selkirks! I bet they're amazing!

He's the most adorable little being.

Love that splodge! Handsome chap. Is he as mischievous as they say Devons are?

Our selkirk certainly is amazing. Very placid and laid back, even with a three year old, a Bengal and a dog.

Sorry. Just realised I've deviated from the foot issue somewhat. Sorry to derail.

Haha, no problem KittieCat, happy to share thread with a fellow Rex lover.

He is absolutely full of mischief, and a very accomplished thief. Also loves giving gifts, such as a: flannel, washing up sponge, sheet of newspaper, straws and sticks...

He sounds just lovely and his gifts sound much more appropriate than the usual dead things..!

Beautifullymixed blackandwhitecat has cheesy feet as well. I thought I was imagining it at first, and had to sniff again. She is fastidious with her grooming though and smells gorgeous everywhere- apart from her feet.
Beautifullymixed tortiecat has sweet smelling white and babypink paws.
Strange isn't it.
