The litter tray

Picking up our new rescue cat tomorrow!

I am soooo excited! We decided to adopt another rescue cat. DD and I pick up Moggie McLeod tomorrow from the lovely people at Brighton Lot Cats. We had the rehoming inspection on Friday and passed with flying colours Grin

He is a black and white 6 year old boy who loves cuddles. We may have a period of adjustment as he settles in. I suspect Kitty McLeod who currently rules the house with an iron paw will be less than impressed to start with so we will be introducing them to each other very slowly and carefully.

When we went to the shelter, I just wanted to bring them all home with us. Currently wondering how long I need to wait before I broach the subject of more cats with DP.... Grin

I would just start now with comments such as "three wont be any more work than two" etc never too early to start and never too many cats :-)

That's great that you are re-homing a b&w. Apparently people are less eager to re-home them? We have a lovely peculiar b&w, he was the last of the litter. People can be fickle can't they...

He's here!! Grin

He cried all the way home but seems very confident and is currently checking out the ground floor. Kitty McLeod is still asleep upstairs...

He is so friendly and very handsome. Photos to follow once i can get him to stay still long enough!!

Here we are, as promised! Moggy McLeod in all his glory! As you can see, he is clearly finding the whole experience very stressful! And just to even things up, one of a very sulky Kitty McLeod!

Well, they have now met! He went straight up to her an kissed her on the nose! She responded by growling, which clearly didn't faze him in the slightest as he rolled around on front of her showing off his belly! She seems to be grudgingly accepting of him although does hiss if he gets to close. They will be shut in separate rooms on separate floors tonight to avoid cat wars in the night.

Cozie, he really is. Such a character too! Think he will keep us on our toes! Grin

He looks almost a little younger than 6 actually - clearly in very good shape.

The introduction sounds ....... about as good as can be expected. As she's a resident female, it should be OK if he defers properly.

Let us know how things go.

I thought he was 4-5, but according to his chip, he was born in 2008. He is very long and lean. Caught him peering out the window earlier- not a great picture, but it made me laugh as he just looks so shifty!

Only, Kitty McLeod is not one for holding back and we always know when there is something on her mind!

Moggy now busy admiring his (admittedly very handsome!) reflection in the mirror! I love my cats Grin

He'll have to check absolutely everything out in his new environment for a day or two at least. In fact several times - in case it's changed when he wasn' looking! It will be like having an inquisitive two year old around.

How are Moggy and Kitty getting on?

I couldn't go to a shelter as I'd come back with armfuls :)

Time for an update!
Moggy has settled in very very well. He is every friendly and very vocal. It is almost like having a destructive toddler around as cups/glasses/plates etc have gone flying as he has a good explore. He is a delight and I love hime to bits. Kitty seems fine with him- she's just not fussed unless he gets too close and she growls at him! He colonised ou bed on the the first night. Kitty came in to be sociable (very unusual for her!) but I don't think she was overimpressed by the overenthusuastic bum sniffing he gave her and she hissed and ran off.

Time for a photo... Moggy dealing with the stress of a new home.... zzzzzzzz.....

Good news that Kitty is being forbearing - sounds fine.
