Flea advice needed

Hi there - my cat has fleas and we are getting eaten alive. I've always used frontline every month, but i'm finding its getting less effective. Not sure if cat is getting resistant.

Could anyone recommend a treatment that's better than frontline? Also, is there a v good strong flea spray you can get to spray on carpets etc? (I suspect the ones you see in the supermarket are a bit rubbish.)

Any other advice on how I get rid of the problem much appreciated.
Thanks

Advocate on the cat (prescription only) and acclaim or Indorex on house immediately after hovering.

Fleas are getting resistant in some areas of the country, MrsFT. See Lone's post above for alternative potions - and get the hoover working thoroughly.

I've recently had this problem and it's been a bloody nightmare. I went to the vets and they have me a prescription only treatment called stronghold, which also worms them. lots of brushing the little bastards out and indorex for the house. washed all the pet bedding at 90 as well. vet said to make sure the house spray covers for 12 months and reapply in a year as some bits (can't remember which Blush ) lie dormant for up to 2 years.

was very expensive to get rid of them but we were also getting bitten.

my cat is still banned from all the bedrooms and cries like a baby outside the bedroom door most of the night Hmm

good luck in sorting it. Smile

Try your council's pest control services. It cost me £50 and worked. They have access to serious pesticides which are what you need.

And my vet does a free flea check and recommends Advocate too.

Good luck. I hate the buggers.
