Why does my cat keep meowing?

Happy normal cat, we have had her for years.

She has spent the last couple of days constantly crying/meowing. Isn't hungry can go in and out what is the matter with her??

Should I take her to the vets? She has started to stay out of the house more and more. Do you think she has had enough of the DC being on holiday?

Has she been neutered? It would be unusual for this to be a first season, but probably not impossible.

Yes she is neutered and chipped.

Very odd behaviour, she is out now but spent most of early evening sitting on the stairs meowing

Some kind of feline dementia? Think a visit to the vet would be in order, to make sure she's not in pain. Sorry not to be more help.

She really is behaving strangly, spending more time out than in and not eating. I couldn't bear for her to be in pain.

Money has been very tight over the years and she isn't insured (not that it matters I will take her to the vet this week) can I insure her tomorrow or would I break some clause like with human health Insurance?

My cat did this, when she was about 15 (how old is your cat, OP ?) She used to sit on the staircase and cry at the wall.
It was feline dementia.
She became very eccentric, and died in her sleep aged 19.
I would have your cat checked over, when they sort of YOW, it could be pain. And really loud, drumming purring is another sign.
If she is like Bambi, she will just get dottier, but I would take her to the vets.

I adopted her 4 years ago and I guess she is about 8??

She has been a grumpy pleasure just like me not yowling but miowing like sh has smething to tell me! She hasn't eat with me in the vending for a few weeks now as well.

Some cats do this when they lose their hearing.
My old cat who is 18 crys a lot now even though he isn't unhappy. But he is pretty deaf.

I'm sorry, it's too late to insure her. :( None of mine have ever needed insurance, though my FatCat is the only one to need expensive treatment so far, and he couldn't be covered because he was found injured at the roadside as a 12 week-old feral kitten. Good luck with the vet.

8 is no age for a cat, but she is trying to tell you something, OP.
I never had insurance, I put 20 pounds a month in the credit union.
If you spend a fortune on insurance, well, they wont ail a thing.
