We have 2 cats and a dog. Dog loves everyone. He will submit to hugs and wrestling with a good grace, simply throwing everyone looks of resignation and sometimes uttering a muffled wooffle when it gets too much. Cat no 2 is fat and slow and likes to be stroked but not picked up but her heart is in the right place. Cat no 1 is a total bitch! Beautiful, graceful, elegant, refined but totally self-centred and unaffectionate. We tolerate her because she makes the place look pretty. She tolerates us because of food. If anyone offers her unwanted attention (that is any attention non food-related basically) she glares, sneers and stalks off.

But DS2 - a child so passionate about animals he tried to take a frog from the garden pond to bed last week Confused, who tries the patience of even the dog and cat no 2, who wants to cuddle tarantulas, and spends most of his time being an animal has become the object of affection of Bitch Cat. She sleeps on his pillow, when he gets into bed he puts his head on her and then puts a hand around her to keep her still. And she PURRS! And stays there all night.

I am nice to her. I feed her, chat to her, tell her she is beautiful. And she hates me

She is a cat - they have their own rules

Cats choose who they love.

Your DS sounds absolutely gorgeous, so who can blame her for choosing him to be her special companion ?

I would love him, too ! Smile

It does sound like he is her human.

I dont think there is anything you can do about it to be honest. Our cat will sleep on my pillow if allowed, DH took photos for some reason.

When I was little we had chinchilla persians, one of them had ishoos and it took years for her to be more social.

She still bit the vet at every visit though. He cried when she was PTS (with relief no doubt).
