My boy got hit by a car this afternoon :(

He's waiting on x-rays in the morning but vet said there's a high chance he'll lose his front leg as the break is high up and possibly into his shoulder.

Anyone have any experiance?

No direct experience sorry, but there is a very cute kitty that lives round the corner and only has 1 front leg - it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Next door's cat had a front leg removed a few months ago because of a tumour. He was out and about again after a couple of weeks and manages very well. It doesn't seem to have slowed him down much at all.

I'm sorry to hear about your poor cat. How is he now? Our childminder's cat only had three legs - he'd had to have a hind leg removed after a similar accident He was very cheerful and it didn't seem to slow him down or affect him in any way.

My brother's cat lost one of its legs (can't remember if it was front or back, sorry), and went on to live a long & happy life - at least another 10 years after the accident.

He did get a bit fatter, (the car, not my bro!), but didn't seem to be affected in any other way.
