We have had our sweet rescue cat for 1.5 weeks and she has a litter back at the rescue centre which are about 11 weeks old. For the past 2 days she has been in season which having only had neutered male cats in the past I have no experience with. Wow, I never expected it to be like this! She is due to get spayed in a week. Her yowling is so loud it wakes dd, we shut her in the dining room last night which has the front door in it and found she had weed against the door this morning (had used litter tray as well). Dh Not Best Pleased! How long is this likely to go on for? Are there any tips to get us through this phase?

I'd phone the vet to see if there is an interim injection she can have. Poor randy girl.

It can be different in each cat from what I have heard, think our reteired queen took about a week. Friends cat didnt have a season, just got fat and gave birth.

And she will wee everywhere, get cleaning with the bio washing powder and hot water. Or lock her in a room overnight with a hard floor.

Loud isnt it? dont worry you wont hear that miaow after spaying.

Thanks for your replies. Yes, wee against the front and back doors whenever she gets a chance! Have tried shutting her in the kitchen as further from bedrooms and no doors to outside to wee against! I haven't seen any toms hanging around outside so hopefully she will get the hint soon and give up :). Roll on Wednesday for spay.
