Bloody neighbour's cats

Neighbours who I don't know got two large tabbys about six months ago. Don't know the gender. These cats have decided they own the street, can't really do much about it. We have a large pond with lots of lovely gold fish in. It was netted but these cats broke through and caught nine of them. Grrr... but DH built an industrial strength net and touch wood they've not got through it again.

We have two 14 year old lovely, spayed female cats. These two cats terrorize them. There are at least 12 cats down are road and ours have stood their ground up till now. But if the terrorist tabbys are in the garden they will not go out. We will chase them away if we see them although they're not too bothered by me clapping and shouting at them.

They've got in to the house once before using the cat flap and eaten our cats food. But tonight there was an awful racket and I went in to the conservatory to see fur everywhere, my cats collar on the floor and a tabby literally pinning one of my cats down. My cats are very shaken, but as far as i can see not injured. Poor things Sad

What can be done? I want to go and see the neighbours but what can I suggest they do?

Oh and one of our cats will refuse to wear a collar so we can't get one of those automatic cat flaps.

Not sure about how to deal with the neighbours or their cats but just to say that microchip cat-flaps are great and don't need collars. They are about £80 (plus the microchipping is maybe £50 for two cats though your local RSPCA might do it for free). If nothing else it will at least make your house secure for your cats and it was money well spent for me.

Get a water pistol. Wink
There's a cat like this down our street with nuts the size of golf balls. He even managed to fight Dcat off a first floor flat roof. Shock No collar on him so I could send him packing with a note attached for his owners.
The only thing that works for us is a water pistol or washing up liquid bottle.

Unneutered boys by any chance? Wish people would just neuter.

Super soaker it is. Although I hadn't heard of the microchip cat flap and will definitely look in to it.

The fish weren't expensive - just your regular gold fish. But had all hatched from our original 3 and we'd had them for years. Was definitely the tabbys, caught them at it!

Sad poor fish. iwould still let the neighbour know it had happened. i know tehre isn't much they can do and you have reinforced the netting but i think they should know what their moggies are getting up to. might help them make a decision about neutering.
