Advice needed barking dog!

Hi,
We have a chocolate labrador (Eric) who will be 5 this year..
Since last year he has started to bsrk in the back garden and its getting worse he will bark at neighbours in their gardens (He can't see them we have 6ft fences on all sides. He will bark if the houses opposite open their windows or blinds.
Its becoming a nightmare and we have a 4 month old baby who he is disturbing with this barking.
He never used to bark but we went on a mini holiday to wales and he suddenly started barking at another dog staying in the other lodge when he was taken for a walk.
Any advice? How do we stop it? We haven't tried anything other than telling him to stop and sending him to his bed but it doesn't cure the problem.

Do you use a clicker in training? If not, I suggest getting one.
Once you've loaded it, click and treat when he goes quiet. He will soon get the hang of it

I do have a clicker! Never thought about using it to help this! Great thank you!
