Our beloved pup is currently at the vets with a uterus infection, the vet said it is severe and she is very unwell. She's staying overnight with IV antibiotics and going to theatre in the morning for an emergency spaying but we have been warned she could not come back out - I know they have to tell you the risks etc but we are all so worried.

She's not even a year old and has been getting more and more unwell over the last week, today was her third visit to the vet in that time.

I just want her home and well Sad will anyone come and hold my hand?

Any pet having to have a procedure of any kind gives me the wobbles.

Fingers crossed everything gets sorted and pup recovers.

I'm virtually holding your hand too. I remember when mine went in. Think positive thoughts and we're here with you.

I hope the op is a success xx

Thank you for the positive thoughts and wishes.
I am sure she will be fine but it's such a worry, I didnt realise she was such a massive part of our family until today.

I will update once she's had her op, hopefully it's good news!

It's only 8.35am but I'm desperate to hear how's she's doing and when she's going to theatre, I was going to call and ask but it's probably best not to know times etc as I'd worry even more.

I feel slightly crap for not having her spayed earlier but this all started a week or so after her first season ended (vet recommended waiting until she'd had her 1st one).

I'm sure she will will be fine and back to her bouncy vibrant self in no time, unfortunatly positive thinking doesn't stop the worry

Virtual hand hold from me Flowers

Try not to blame yourself (hard I know). It sounds like you love her very much and she's getting the best possible care.

Bless you. Ring them, find out what time she is going in, and ask them to ring once she's out, I'm sure they won't mind. Otherwise you'll be fretting all morning. The jury seems to be out re spaying before or after the first season, you can only go on your vets advice and received wisdom. Not your fault at all, you sound like a really loving owner. Wishing you both all the best, let us know how she goes on, she's young and strong and much loved X

On hold to the vets at the moment, she has been out of theatre for 15 mins and I'm waiting to speak to the kennel nurse to see how she is. Thank you again for the well wishes! I will update again once I know what's going on for sure

Finally got the speak to the nurse in charge of our girl.
They said she is very very lucky, the infection had spread into her abdomen and if she was left any later she would of died. they couldn't remove all the infection from her abdomen so she's currently topped up on lots of antibiotics, she is apparently very weak and almost unresponsive at present Sad
Hopefully she will improve slightly over night. We were going to visit her but decided not too so she could sleep in peace and recover.

A part of me is angry with the vets practice, we took her in 8 days ago to be told she had a sickness bug, then again on Tuesday when they were going to scan her but did blood work instead and sent her home. Obviously I am being unreasonable and it's not their fault, but i do wish they'd done more the first time we took her
