dog walker stuck in muddy field

Shows how easily a seemingly routine dog walk can go wrong. Thought maybe the man was stuck because he was elderly and frail, but the police got stuck as well.

I don't quite understand why he was so stuck. Would the mud have just enclosed him and stuck him down?

he got stuck, couldnt get out, so fell asleep?? Wow, pretty chilled about it

It was probably the cold that made him fall asleep, everything starts to shut down.
I was nearly stuck in river mud once when dog dragged me off the path, luckily was with DH who managed to drag me out. Once mud gets up to your knees it's almost impossible to lift your feet up.

I got stuck in a field when I was a small child , in the end my mum had to just pull me out of my wellies and leave them stuck there.
