and is now much more reasonable, does this mean his teenage rebellion is over and we have a glimpse of the dog he is going to be or is it just a lull in his development and he's likely to gather speed again any day now?
He's a small dog, does that make a difference? His recall is back after going absent and drop it is again reliable. He no longer feels the need to try and bolt if the door is open in fact he'll just sit and look out whilst I go to the car and come back. He loves his bed and actually naps during the day (unheard of since he was a tiny pup) and he's not always on a mission to cause mayhem (although he still has his moments) and he is bonded to us as a family rather than being desperate for attention from anyone. So although he is still friendly if anyone asks for a fuss he doesn't look for fuss from passers by anymore.
Does that mean the boy has grown up do you think? Can I breathe a sigh of relief now and enjoy a slight warm glow that as a family we seem to have survived the challenges of our first puppy and somehow managed to raise (with a lot of help from here) a pretty nice, mostly well behaved, friendly and sociable dog?
