Advice on looking after a puppy for two weeks

I am looking after a friends puppy for two weeks and I am exhausted after only 12 hours. It's a pomarian husky cross and about 11 weeks old. What structure should I put into place during the day (play sessions, nap time etc) so the puppy is happy and not too districtive, and I know I can get 'free' time to do my stuff.

You should be following on from your friends routine/training. Do you know what they have done with the pup so far?

From what I remember at that age its pretty impossible to leave them unsupervised as they will chew everything. Our pup followed us around as we did things so that was ok.

Most of his awake time was spent house training and playing low key training games with treats (part of his kibble allowance). Short walks also important to get him seeing the outside world (carried if not vaccinated yet). All that should tire him out.

Happily napped/stayed in crate so we knew he (and our stuff) was safe.

Its also a very young age to be moved from his mum to a home then to another home and back again (know these things cant be avoided in very exception circumstances) so be very aware the pup will be feeling anxious which may be causing over excitement and or frantic behaviour.

All I can say is good luck!

Not having a go at you, obviously, as it's not your dog and you certainly didn't breed it BUT whoever thought a pom/husky cross was a good idea.... [shocked]

What ^ said! Plus really not good to get a puppy when you know you're not going to be around for 2 weeks, poor little thing will be stressed by so much change in such a short time! If they've bit crate trained it you'll have a much harder job, easier if they have as can be safely sleeping in crate whilst you get in with things, otherwise will need to puppy proof where ever it can get to and that's a big job! Or baby gates to contain to one area made sfae and with easily cleanable floor! Good luck!

Pom x husky?! WTF?

Is it crate trained?
I don't want to stress you further but you've got the puppy in the crucial socialization weeks and it is very important you are out and about doing different things with him (I assume he is vaccinated otherwise stay well away from other dogs and the faces of dogs and foxes).

What was the owner thinking? I assume they had some emergency?
