Daily food for a 6 month old labrador

Hi. So DDog will be 6 months old next week. We've kept him on the same food the breeder had him on since we got him (Purina Pro Plan Robust Puppy dry food) but said that when he got to 6 months and going down to 2 meals a a day we would reassess and look at other options.

When we had

Lots of people rave about raw food but I'm not sure I like the sound of this - seems a bit of a fag and I don't have a lot of freezer space.

Does anyone recommend any other dry foods or should we keep him on what seems to be suiting him?

Thanks for any advice!

I always use Simpsons Premium for my labs. It has turned out the most fabulous litters and all my girls look fabulous. I couldn't be happier with it.

I don't like raw or any derivation of similar for a number of reasons, including transportability, nutrition levels and storage. Kibble is really, really easy and is never going to stink out the back of my car!

We fed our Lab Hill's Science Diet from their puppy food to the senior diet and she lived to 2 months shy of 15. Always healthy and happy, never overweight.

For dry food I use Millie's Wolfheart, it's brilliant stuff. It's excellent quality (so no need for "life stage" formulations) but is very reasonably priced, especially when compared with other similar foods.

My whippets get the countryside mix, my mongrel a half and half mixture of the countryside mix and the salmon & veg. I also get small bags of various flavours (currently the obedience mix) to use in their treat balls.

For their evening meal they get the dry mixed with some wet. I'm a big fan of some of the European brands of wet food available from Zooplus. I mostly use Rocco but also sometimes Rinti, Animonda Gran Carno and Bozita. It's great stuff, comes in loads of interesting flavours and is surprisingly cheap.

I feed my 9 month old lab Burns puppy. She's got a lovely shiny coat.
